CytaGet 500 contains Cytarabine: what it is
Cytarabine, also called cytosine arabinoside or Ara-C, is a chemotherapy medicine that stops cancer cells from copying their DNA. It is mainly used for acute leukemias, usually together with other cancer medicines. It is given only by trained staff in a hospital or clinic.
Antimetabolite chemotherapy (pyrimidine analogue)

- Acute myeloid (non-lymphocytic) leukemia in adults and children, with other medicines
- Acute lymphocytic leukemia
- Chronic myeloid leukemia in blast phase
- Prevention and treatment of leukemia in the brain and spinal fluid (meningeal leukemia)
How it is given
Injection into a vein or under the skin, or into the spinal fluid (preservative-free form only), given in a hospital or clinic
Storage
Kept at room temperature in the carton to protect from light. Do not refrigerate.
