PemiGet 500mg contains Pemetrexed: what it is
Pemetrexed is a chemotherapy medicine used for a type of lung cancer called non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer and for mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining around the lungs. It works by blocking enzymes that cancer cells need to make new DNA. It is given by infusion in a hospital or clinic, alone or with other cancer medicines, and it is not used for squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
Chemotherapy (antifolate, antimetabolite)

- Advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, first treatment (with cisplatin, or with pembrolizumab and platinum chemotherapy when there are no EGFR or ALK changes)
- Maintenance treatment of advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer that has not grown after first platinum chemotherapy
- Non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer that came back or spread after earlier chemotherapy
- Malignant pleural mesothelioma that cannot be removed by surgery (with cisplatin)
