Bleomycin is a long-used chemotherapy medicine that comes from a type of bacteria (Streptomyces). It is used for several cancers, including lymphomas, testicular cancer and some squamous cell cancers, and works by breaking the DNA of cancer cells. It is usually one part of a combination chemotherapy plan and is given by trained staff in a hospital or clinic.
