Gemcitabine is a chemotherapy medicine that slows the growth of cancer cells by interfering with how they copy their DNA. Depending on the type of cancer, it is used alone or together with other cancer medicines. It is given by a nurse in a hospital or clinic under the care of an oncologist.
Chemotherapy (antimetabolite, nucleoside analogue)
