Troynoxa 60 contains Enoxaparin: what it is
Enoxaparin is a blood thinner given by injection that helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It is used after some surgeries, for people whose movement is very limited during a sudden illness, for clots in the deep veins of the legs, and in certain heart conditions. Because it affects clotting, the care team watches for bleeding and checks blood counts.
Low molecular weight heparin (anticoagulant, blood thinner)
What doctors prescribe it for
- Preventing blood clots in the legs (DVT) after abdominal, hip or knee replacement surgery
- Preventing blood clots in patients with severely limited movement during a sudden (acute) illness
- Treating deep vein thrombosis (DVT), with or without a clot in the lungs (pulmonary embolism)
- Unstable angina and non-Q-wave heart attack, together with aspirin
- Acute ST-elevation heart attack (STEMI)
How it is given
Injection under the skin, usually from a prefilled syringe; in some hospital cases it is also given into a vein
