Beltro 50mg contains Eltrombopag: what it is
Eltrombopag is a medicine that helps the bone marrow make more platelets, the blood cells that help stop bleeding. It is used for long-lasting immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), for low platelets in chronic hepatitis C, and for severe aplastic anemia. Liver tests are checked regularly while taking it, so the doctor will schedule blood tests.

- Low platelet count in long-lasting immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), adults and children 1 year and older, when other treatments were not enough
- Low platelet count in chronic hepatitis C, so interferon-based treatment can start and continue
- Severe aplastic anemia, as a first treatment together with immunosuppressive therapy (age 2 and older)
- Severe aplastic anemia that did not respond enough to immunosuppressive therapy
How it is given
Tablet taken by mouth (an oral suspension form also exists, mainly for young children)
