Imonib 100 contains Imatinib: what it is

Imatinib is a targeted cancer medicine that blocks specific proteins (such as BCR-ABL and KIT) that tell certain cancer cells to grow. It is taken by mouth for as long as the doctor advises. Regular blood tests and check-ups are part of treatment.

Targeted therapy (tyrosine kinase inhibitor)

  • Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML)
  • Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
  • KIT (CD117)-positive gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), including after surgery
  • Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) that cannot be removed by surgery, has come back or has spread
  • Some rare blood disorders (myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases with PDGFR gene changes, hypereosinophilic syndrome/chronic eosinophilic leukemia, aggressive systemic mastocytosis)
